| Alpe D’Huez
is a top International ski resort situated in the southern
French Alps. Its high altitiude, vast & varied ski terrain
and numerous snow cannons makes it the ideal place for a winter
sports enthusiast to buy a property.
Alpe D’Huez is one of the best equipped resorts in the
Alps with an ice-rink, an indoor and outdoor heated swimming
pool, a large Sports centre offering indoor tennis, squash,
gym and many other activities. Many of these activities are
free with your liftpass so if you plan to stay for long periods
and use all these facilities it can be a great saving. There
are plenty of excellent restaurants in Alpe D’Huez,
for a gastronomic feast or a simple meal for a young family.
If it’s night life you want then there are plenty of
bars, pubs and nightclubs to choose from.
During the summer months the mountains are blanketed with
wild flowers. The cable cars run throughout July and August
enabling walkers and mountain bikers to access the Grandes
Rousses Massif. The view over Les Ecrins national park is
impressive and from the top of the Pic Blanc you can see a
fifth of France. Many events are run throughout the summer
including the Megavalanche mountain bike downhill race and
the Supermotard weekend.
Alpe D’Huez is of course home to the most famous mountain
hill climb of the Tour de France which comes to the resort
almost every other year and attracts thousands of cyclists.
As an investment a property in the Alps will generally increase
in value as they are highly sought after. As this resort is
at a high altitude snow is almost guaranteed which makes properties
in Alpe D’Huez a surer investment than a property in
a lower resort. During the winter months properties here are
fairly easy to rent and can be handled for you by a rental
agent.
